Doula does not:

Depending on the doula’s availability, choose between an overnight and day shift schedule below

Overnight schedule:

  • Minimum 96hrs: 8hr shifts, 3x/wk for 1 month, Monday, Wednesday, & Friday ($5,280 cost)

  • 10p - 6a (8hrs)

Day shift schedule:

  • Minimum 60hrs: 5hr shifts, 3x/wk on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday for 1 month ($3,300 cost)

  • 9a - 2p (5hrs)

Conditions:

  • Postpartum services can be canceled at anytime

  • If a family cancels within 2 months of their EDD, the retainer fee is non-refundable. This is because the doula has blocked off their calendar and declined work from inquiring families

Moving forward:

  • Set up a 30-minute chat to match with a doula who is available

  • Lock in a schedule

  • Discuss which day you’d like postpartum services to start (first OR second day home from birth center/hospital)

  • Review & sign contract

  • Send retainer fee of half the amount of the contract in order to reserve the doula’s time

  • Meet & greet (optional)

  • Inform doula when labor begins and when you will be coming home from the birth center/hospital

  • Note: The first week of services will look different than the planned schedule due to the spontaneous nature of birth and the unpredictable day you will come home from the birth facility

  • Reminder: Birth-work is a fluid and flexible lifestyle which means the maternal-support practitioner could be on-call for a birth. In these circumstances, there may be a temporary interruption in the postpartum schedule if the birth professional is called to a birth. Any hour’s missed would be credited to another week.
